*Belgium, WW1, 1910 Pattern F.N. Browning Semi Automatic Pistol, Deactivated*

The pistol that started WW1. The FN Model 1910 was the handgun used by Gavrilo Princip to assassinate Archduke Ferdinand in Sarajevo June 28th 1914.

Black matte finish. Belgian proof marks to slide frame and barrel. Checkered hard rubber grips with FN logos. Undated but the front type suggests it is WW1 period.

The FN Model 1910, designed by John Browning and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale of Belgium starting in 1912, is a blowback-operated, semi-automatic pistol based on Browning's 1908 patent. It marked a shift for Browning, as it was the first of his designs exclusively produced by FN in Europe, as Colt Firearms declined to manufacture it. Featuring a unique operating spring surrounding the barrel, this design introduced a standard later adopted by firearms like the Walther PPK and Russian Makarov. Compact at only six inches in length, it was well-suited for concealed carry. Despite its small size, it retained Browning's signature features, including a grip safety, striker-firing mechanism, and an external safety lever known as the "triple safety."

Serial number "567841" marked on the barrel and under the slide,
