*Belgium, Pre-WW1 – FN Browning M1900 Leather Pistol Holster*

A Pre-First World War Belgian leather pistol holster for the FN Browning Model 1900, measuring approximately 19 cm × 15.5 cm. Constructed in dark brown textured leather, the holster features a full-length flap secured by a long strap and steel retaining lug, with twin front magazine pouches typical of early Belgian commercial and police holsters supplied for Browning’s M1900 automatic pistol. The interior retains its original period lining and stitching, with the characteristic narrow profile suited to the slim FN pocket-pistol frame. Rear belt loop intact.

Historical Note:
The FN Browning M1900, introduced in 1900 and produced until 1911, was one of the earliest successful self-loading pistols and was widely used by Belgian police, gendarmerie and private officers prior to the First World War. Holsters of this pattern, often privately purchased, were produced in Belgium in a variety of leather textures, with double magazine carriers and the long strap-and-lug closure associated with early FN-pattern rigs. Surviving pre-WW1 Browning 1900 holsters are increasingly scarce, particularly examples retaining both magazine pouches and original period stitching.

*Condition*
Good original condition for age, with expected surface scuffs, wear to edges and light creasing to flap. Stitching largely intact with minor rubbing to high-stress points. Magazine pouches firm and complete. Interior showing age darkening and handling marks consistent with pre-WW1 manufacture. Belt loop intact; closure strap flexible and functional. No significant losses or tears. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
