Traditional Scottish basket hilt of steel; consisting of a pommel with pronounced tang button and close fitting guard of bars and sheet pierced with patterns of heart-shapes. Two bar guards curve outwards from the knuckle guard and recurve to connect with the side guards, a small quillon with cross bar terminal at the rear. The fish-skin covered grip retains its brass (copper alloy) wire binding; the guard its red fabric lining (with blue silk edging) and red silk tassel.

*Condition*

The sword is in good condition; considering its age and past working life. The blade and hand guard doe have light historical pitting. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
