Formed 1656 by King Charles II while in exile in Flander, the Grenadier Guards are the most senior infantry regiment in the British Army.

All new Guardsmen go to Nijmegen Company stationed in Wellington Barracks, London, focusing on Public Duties and further development prior to onward posting in Aldershot.

The uniform we present here is complete with its trousers, badges and buttons.

The tunic comes with three ribbons showing The 1939-45 Star, The Burma Star and The Defence Medal.

The ribbon of the 1939-45 Star seems to be upside down.

The tunic is marked inside ‘Maddox’ and ‘Hodkin’ (could be the names of the different owners).

There is also a label with various ID numbers and name V. Reeve.

The trousers bear a label that among other things reads the manufacturing year ‘1969’ and ‘size 24’. Please see the pictures.
