~ 19th Century Striking French Boulle Work Mantel Clock 8 Day Movement By Samuel Marti ~

An excellent quality French clock dating to around 1870 and in the Louis XV style of the 18th century.

The gilt clock face has delightful scroll work to the centre with blue Roman numerals on white porcelain plaques. The elaborate steel hands are in black. The front is decorated with red boulle work with inlaid brass. This is embellished with further applied gilt scroll work and it stands on four feet. The sides and rear are lacquered in black. It is topped with a gilt finial. The clock strikes on a single gong. A key is included.

~  Condition ~

The clock is in good working order and has been recently serviced. It is in good cosmetic order with minor wear.

~ Dimensions ~

The clock is 35 cm (13.75 inches) tall, 17.5 cm (7 inches) wide and the base is 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) deep.

It weighs 2.4 Kg.
