~ 19th Century French Brass Fire Service Helmet Sapeurs Pompiers Follainville ~

The helmet is of brass construction with an applied front plaque, leather backed chin scales, leather lining, a deep red side shackle and black plume (a presumed addition) to the crown.

~ Condition ~

The skull is in good order with a few dings to the sides. The lining is complete but dry and has a few tears. One of the side hooks to hold the chinstrap in place is missing.

~ Dimensions ~

The helmet is 26 cm (10 inches) long by 20 cm (8 inches) wide by 18 cm (7 inches) tall excluding the plume.
