~ 19th Century Bavarian Officials Officers Bicorne Hat ~
A smart asymmetrical 19th Century bicorne of black beaver skin with bullion embroidery set.
The embroidery set sits upon a pinked silk ribbon of Bavarian colours (blue and white), pinned in place with a gilt Bavarian side button.
It also features a cushioned bullion tassel to each end.
The interior with has the original leather sweatband, with the number 54 penned next to the seam.
The silk lining is pleated very smartly but appears to have been cut away at the crown.
~ Dimensions ~
The hat is 16.5 inches (42 cm) in length from fore to aft, sits 6 inches (15 cm) tall and has a headband lentgth of 21.5 inches (51.5 cm).
It weighs 340 g.
~ Condition ~
The beaver is soft and unstained, the hat’s shape has held up excellently, the bullion and button is in great order, it is only the soft fabric that shows any service wear (ribbon and lining, both pictured).
