~ 19th C. Pair Of Silvered Brass & Marble Greek God Figure Candleabra ~

A wonderfully decorative pair of candleabra in the form of the ancient Greek gods Hermes and a goddess, possibly Aphrodite.

The candlesticks are of brass, with both a silver and gilt finish, mounted on marble bases.

Both figures are in a running pose, mounted on urns holding aloft foliate decorated batons on which the candle
sconces sit. The figures are finished in silver while the scones are of brass.

They are mounted on plinths of onyx and marble upon decorative gilt bases with claw feet.

~ Dimensions ~

The candlesticks each measure 15cm (6 inches) across and 29cm (11 ½ inches) in height.

Together they weigh 3.16 Kg.

~ Condition ~

Three of the scones are removable while the fourth is stuck fast.

There is a little wear in places to some of the silvering and gilt, but this is minimal and does not detract from the
overall look.

There are a couple of small chips to both bases while one of the bases has a crack all the way across the onyx, which
has been repaired.
