~ 1970-90’s Meiji EMT Microscope With Ultraviolet Lamp ~
Here we have a very interesting piece of functional scientific equipment. This is an older model Meiji microscope from the EMT line with its ultraviolet lamp accessory. These microscopes came out of Japan in the late 20th century as competition to the German and Swiss makers.
This is a bench model with an extended base, binocular form with fully functioning optics.
This model could have originally been used by anyone from a geologist to a mechanic, even someone examining items for authenticity.
To all appearances though this one seems to have been a stamp collectors or authenticators, there is a leaflet explaining the use of an UV lamp in the identification of stamps in the box of the lamp.
The microscope consists of:
One binocular microscope head with a Meiji, Japan factory sticker.
One extended stand with removable base plate.
Two ‘SWF10X’ optics sections.
One industrial/commercial grade UV lamp.

At its lowest configuration the microscope is 13 inches (33 cm) tall.
The microscope is 12 inches (30 cm) deep.
The microscope is 6 inches (15 cm) wide at the base.
The UV lamp is 3 inches (7.6 cm) wide and deep.
The UV lamp is 1.5 inches (4 cm) tall.
~ Condition ~
The microscope and UV lamp are in good condition.
The optics of the microscope appears to be in working order.
The UV lamp appears to be in need of repairs but has all its component parts.
