This unusual piece is formed by compressing a full length shell case down to a compact two inches giving an interesting textured finish.$

The base is stamped 18 PR II (for an 18 pounder, mark 2 shell), Lot 440 Broad Arrow, /18 for 1918) and was made by PB & Co.

~ Dimensions ~

The shell case base is 10 cm (4 inches)  in diameter and is 5 cm (2.5 inches) tall. It weighs 1.4 Kg.
