The well executed painting is signed S. Hood (I believe that is correct), 1893 to the lower left. It depicts three sailing ships of the line with HMS Victory to the fore on calm seas.

The panel reads 'H.M.S. Victory and ships of the British Fleet off Cadiz, October 1806'.

It is presented in a gilt gesso glazed wooden frame with a lined, single mount .

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images, the frame has some loss to the gesso. There are some rubbed marks to the painting, between the two ships and by the signature.

~ Dimensions ~

The frame is 92 cm (36 inches) wide and 74 cm (29 inches) tall.
