~ 1858 Pattern Naval Enfield Cutlass Bayonet and scabbard pre-1862 ~

Based on the 1845 Naval Cutlass, this model was used for the 1858 pattern Naval Muzzle Loading Enfield Rifle and it’s Snider conversion.

Two patterns of the 1858 Naval Cutlass Bayonet were approved and sealed and ours is the second one (released in 1st May 1859).

The scabbard is the same as for Naval Cutlasses, black leather with steel fittings.

The blade is stamped with the inspector's mark on the ricasso.

~ Condition ~

As seen in the pictures both pieces are in very good condition for their age.
