1847 Brunswick Bayonet

Availability: Out of stock

SKU: MLJA_751246364 Category:

Here we have one of the defining sword bayonets of the British armed forces, the Brunswick bayonet that emerged in the early to mid 19th century.

It is a long double edged fullered blade with a brass hilt and crossguard.

The blade is a leaf blade, its profile tapering before widening just before the tip.

Unfortunately this bayonet has lost all of its markings presumably in polishing.

This bayonet does not come with its scabbard.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 21 ¾ inches (55.5cm) long.

The crossguard is 4 inches (10 cm) across.

The bayonet is 26 inches (66 cm) long.

The bayonet weighs 835 g.

~ Condition ~

The bayonet is in good condition with a firm construction and a fully functional mechanism.

Unfortunately this bayonet shows no markings aside from very faint traces on the ricasso and the bottom of the grip.
