~ 1821 Pattern Royal Artillery Officer’s Sword With Scabbard ~

A good example of an 1821 pattern Royal Artillery Officer’s sword, dating from the reign of Victoria. This sword has a slightly curved 86cm blade, Engraved with a cannon and bomb. There is makers mark. There is a cartouche with the initials “J McC” The steel hilt has a three-bar knuckle guard and a shagreen grip. The sword is housed in its original brown leather scabbard.

*Condition*

The blade has darkened over the years with a few small nicks and light historic pitting, the grip has lost its wire and the pommel and knuckle guard are darkened and lightly pitted in places. The scabbard has marks and scratches to be expected considering its age.
