~ 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officers Osborn and Gunby Blue & Gilt Sword ~

An outstanding Georgian Officers sword made by Osborn and Gunby, Warranted.

The sword with blueing, etching and gilt panels, all in near perfect condition. The cast hilt is decorated with heraldic devices and pierced knuckle bow.

The scabbard has unusual intertwining circles surrounded by foliate.  The leather is in sound condition.

This lovely sword by tradition came from the Ponsonby family estate in Ireland and was sold along with other weapons shortly before and after the Irish troubles.

The sword has an overall length of 92cm with a blade length of 80cm

It weighs 1.23 Kg

~ Condition ~

The sword is in really nice condition (please see images for further details).

The scabbard is a little on the floppy side, but in generally good order.
