Victorian Bowie Knife with Sheath

This is a Victorian blade known as a Bowie knife – made famous by Jim Bowie who was made famous for using a large knife at the “Sandbar Duel”. The Bowie knife came from a series of knives that had been improved several times by Jesse Clift at Bowie’s request.

This particular knife features a polished horn handle with an untouched escutcheon in the centre.

*Condition*

The blade is in great condition and has a light patina. It has clearly been looked after well over its lifetime. The sheath is in excellent condition for its age.
