Out of stock

SKU: JA_985949412 Category:

This is a nice example of an African dagger with its original leather scabbard.

The grip of the dagger and half of the pommel are wrapped in brown leather. The other half of the pommel leaves the nicely decorated metal exposed.

The blade is decorated with an intricate pattern, as can be seen in the pictures.

The scabbard has a ring build in to it of which leather made twisted rope has been attached, as the scabbard’s frog.

Both sides of the scabbard are decorated as well and the tip has a bowl shaped finial.

The shape of the dagger shows the ancient Persian influence.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 8 ¼ inches (21 cm) long and 1 ¾ inches (4.5 cm) wide.

The overall length of the dagger is 13 ¼ (33.5 cm) and the overall length of the piece in it’s scabbard is 13 ¾ (35 cm).

It weighs 200 grams.

~ Condition ~

The blade has some traces of surface rust and the far end of the tip has been broken at one point in time.

The leather has some age wear, but is not significant for the age.
