*Soviet, WW2, Mosin–Nagant M91-30 Bolt-Action Rifle with Sling, Dating 1942, Izhevsk Arsenal, Matching Numbers, Serial ки7522, Deactivated*

A Second World War Soviet Mosin–Nagant Model 1891/30 bolt-action infantry rifle, manufactured at the Izhevsk Arsenal in 1942, complete with sling and modern Birmingham Proof House EU deactivation certificate. This example retains matching serial numbers ки7522  to the barrel shank, bolt, and magazine floorplate, and is well marked throughout with Soviet factory and inspection stamps.

The barrel shank is stamped with the Izhevsk arrow-in-triangle arsenal mark, together with a very faint Soviet crest (hammer and sickle within wreath), the date 1942, and serial number ки7522. Additional inspection and acceptance marks are present on the barrel bands, stock, and metalwork, including triangle and star stamps consistent with wartime Soviet production.

This is the standard M91/30 pattern rifle, the principal infantry arm of the Red Army during the Second World War, featuring the round receiver, hooded front sight, tangent rear sight graduated in metres, and integral five-round internal magazine.

The rifle is complete with period-type web sling fitted to the original sling slots with leather keepers.

Approx. Measurements – Barrel length: 73 cm. Overall length: 123.2 cm.

History Note:
The Mosin–Nagant rifle was adopted by Imperial Russia in 1891 and remained in service through the Soviet period and beyond. The Model 1891/30, introduced in 1930, became the most widely issued Soviet rifle of the Second World War and was produced in enormous numbers at the state arsenals of Izhevsk and Tula.

Rifles dated 1942 fall within the period of peak wartime production, when Soviet factories were operating under extreme pressure following the German invasion of 1941. Finish quality was often simplified during this period, but reliability remained excellent, and these rifles saw extensive service on all fronts of the war.

With over 37 million Mosin–Nagant rifles produced, the design is one of the most widely manufactured military bolt-action rifles in history, valued for its strength, simplicity, and durability in harsh conditions.
