WWII German Waffen SS Fur Lined Winter Hat

An original Second World War Waffen SS wool winter hat.

These hats were used by SS officers during winter and were commonly used on the Russian Front.

The hat is of green wool with olive green fabric side flaps and lining.

The ear flaps are fur-lined as is the peak. The fur most likely being rabbit.

The peak is stitched in place. The flaps can be worn down or secured at the top with fabric ties.

The hat features the metal totenkopf (skull and crossbones) badge to the front.

~ Dimensions ~

The hat has an inner diameter of 56cm (22 inches) and a depth of 10cm (4 inches).

It weighs 260g.

~ Condition ~

The hat is in a really nice condition, it seems to have had little wear.

The fur is in a very nice condition and is not moulting at all. The
wool is free from damage or wear.

The cloth lining has a few white marks but is otherwise in very
good order.

The badge is also free from damage.
