~ WW2 Presentation Lighter For Royal Electrical And Mechanical Engineers Corp Circa 1942 ~
Interesting presentation piece, lighter in the form of a street lamp with 4 Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers crests to the base of the lamp post quite unusual. Chrome over Brass with a heavy base.
During World War II, the increase in quantity and complexity of equipment exposed the flaws in this system. Pursuant to the recommendation of a Committee on Skilled Men in the Services chaired by William Beveridge, the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers was formed on 1 October 1942

Some of the chrome as delaminated in some areas but overall it is a nice thing. Please see the pictures for details.
