~ WW2 Italian Naval Officer's Bicorn Hat In Box ~
A Second World War era Italian Naval Officers bicorn in original box.
The plush bicorn is decorated with a black pleated silk along the top edge.
It has bullion coils to either end and bullion to the centre fixed with a gilt metal button over a cloth rosette in the Italian colours of red,
white and green.
The bicorn has a purple silk liner and tan leather sweat band.
The liner has a makers mark of ‘Caballini & Figlio’.
The bicorn comes in its original brown card box with embossed image and writing to lid reading ‘Unione Militare, Livorno’: Livorno
being the city of manufacture in Italy.
~ Dimensions ~
According to a label inside the bicorn it is a size 56 having an inner circumference of 56cm (22 inches).
It measures 43cm (17 inches) front to back and has a height of 16cm (6 ¼ inches).
The box measures 47cm (18 ½ inches) by 20cm (8 inches).
Together they weigh 965g.
~ Condition ~
There is a little wear in parts to the finish and the bullion is dull but otherwise the bicorn is in a nice condition with no damages.
The box is in good order with some light wear in parts.
