WW2 Italian Fascist M.V.S.N. Leader's Dagger

Although designed as a ceremonial dagger it was usually issued with two scabbards, one in black paint for field use and the other silver for ceremonies.

This one comes with the black scabbard.

The dagger is double-bladed on 2/3 of the blade surface.

The grip features an eagle face pommel and a golden symbol on the middle of the left side.

It comes with its scabbard with two suspension rings.

There is an unusually stubby quillion, most similar daggers has a full curved one. The one on this is original and it has not been ground off.

The “MVSN,” Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale, (Volunteer Militia for National Security) is more commonly called the “Black Shirts.”

~ Dimensions ~

The blade length is 15.7 cm (6.1 inches) and the overall length of the dagger is 26.5 cm (10.4 inches).

The dagger plus scabbard length is 34.5 cm (13.6 inches).

~ Condition ~

The dagger is in good used condition. The blade is still in good shape with some scratches on the surface. The dark wooden middle part of the grip is cracked on both sides.

The scabbard has numerous pits but is still in decent condition.
