*WW2 Iron Cross, 1939, 1st Class Maker Marked L15 (Otto Schickle)*

2nd World War Third Reich Bravery Award
This is a genuine 1st Class Iron Cross award which would have been issued to a member of the German army during World War 2 after having already received a 2nd class medal and performing 3-5 acts of bravery in the face of the enemy. It is very rare to find a maker marked example. Maker marked with the LDO code of Schikle "L/15" on the pin.

The Iron Cross was originally founded in 1813 and was considered Germany’s highest military decoration. The Iron Cross was conferred upon military personnel who rendered outstanding service and demonstrated unwavering bravery in the face of the enemy. In order to receive a higher grade, an individual had to first receive a lower grade.

*Condition*
