WW2 German Navy Kriegsmarine Officers Cap

An original Second World War German Navy Kriegsmarine Officers Cap.

The cap is made of white cotton with black material banding, a leather peak and leather chin strap.

There is insignia to the front of the cap comprising of a gilt alloy oak leaf wreath encompassing a tricolour cockade with a gilt alloy eagle and swastika above.

The interior features a leather sweat band. There is a piece of cardboard with German writing on it attached inside which is being used to secure the insignia in place.

~ Dimensions ~

The cap has an inner diameter of 55cm (21 ½ inches).

It is stamped inside with ‘57’ presumably the hat size.

It weighs 210g.

~ Condition ~

The cane which is sewed inside the cap which gives it shape is damaged causing it to jut out a little to the rear.

The chin strap has a small split to one end at the buttonhole, but still stays attached.

There is a small section of damage to part of the peaks brim.

The cap is in a used condition with a few stains and some wear in parts but is overall in a good condition for its age and for a used item.
