Here we have something not seen a lot, a training bayonet for the Arisaka rifle carried by the Japanese military but these were given to cadets of secondary school age and are of a rougher basic form than the standard Arisaka.
These bayonets and cadet rifles were given to people of school age so that they could train as part of a patriotic youth movement that would prepare them for consctiption.
This is a hard to find and an interesting form of training weapon.
The bayonet has an interesting armoury marking.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade is 15 inches (38 cm) long.
The bayonet is 19.5 (50 cm) long.
The bayonet weighs 625g.
~ Condition ~
The bayonet is in good condition for its age and retains its original rough wooden scales and green paint.
