~ WW2 Dockyard Training Wooden Model of a SMLE Rifle ~

This is quite a unique model of a SMLE training rifle that used to be used by the home guard for training purposes.

The piece has a moving bolt on spring and can take the 1907 bayonet.

From a distance, the piece resembled a real rifle and it could trick the enemy into believing that it is!

The piece comes with its period sling as well.

The wooden stock is carved with the War Department initials and broad arrow.

The piece is in excellent condition for its age.
