This is a 1907 pattern bayonet, designed for the famous SMLE (Short Magazine Lee-Enfield) and known as the sword bayonet due to its length. They were used extensively throughout WW1 and WW2. This particular bayonet was produced in 1909 by Sanderson and would have been used throughout both world wars. The bayonet was found at the address 2 The Square, Kingswear and was linked to use by the Home Guard during World War 2.

*Condition*

The bayonet is in good condition with very light pitting and scratches on the blade. The chape of the scabbard is held together with tape. Please see pictures for more detail.
