~ WW2 ARP Whistle By J. Hudson & Co ~
This whistle was standard issue to air raid wardens (and later other Civil Defence Services) prior to and during WW2. The ARP whistle is identical to the standard police whistle ‘The Metropolitan’ and can be heard up to a mile away. The first contract for ARP whistles came in 1938 with Birmingham-based manufacturer J. Hudson and Co. This whistle is inscribed with “A.R.P. J. HUDSON & Co. BARR ST. HOCKLEY BIRMINGHAM”

The whistle is in excellent, working condition with some very minor scratches and knocks. Please see the pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
