*WW2, A soldiers collection of souvenirs from France, including 1944 D-Day Airborne Paratrooper Camouflage Parachute remnant*

A RARE WWII 1944 D-Day Airborne Paratrooper Camouflage Parachute remnant, two embroidered handkerchiefs "Souvenirs of France", a pale pink bra that could be homemade but that has certainly seen some home repairs, a tricolour ribbon and a novelty paddle with depictions of  the allied flags and a tank. This eclectic collection is one of celebration commemorating the historic events of D-Day.

Mission Boston, assigned to the 82nd US Airborne Division, focused on capturing Sainte Mere Eglise and seizing the eastern ends of the Merderet River bridges at Chef-du-Pont and La Fière. These bridges were crucial for armored river crossings. The 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment had the specific task of capturing Sainte Mere Eglise. Simultaneously, Mission Albany, scheduled an hour earlier, involved the US 101st Airborne paratroopers destroying batteries, securing the Douve River's lock, capturing bridges, and taking control of causeways to facilitate the exit of landing troops from Utah Beach. The drops of the 82nd Division preceded the D-Day landings by five hours.
