*WW1, Gas Shell Nose Fuze, Relic Condition, Inert*
A First World War period artillery nose fuze, conical form, measuring approximately 17.2 cm in height with a 6.6 cm base diameter. Constructed in alloy with a steel striker element present to the tip. The base thread and lower seating flange are intact. Surfaces show heavy oxidation and ground encrustation consistent with long-term burial.
Historical Note: This long conical fuze type is most commonly associated with German 77 mm gas projectiles and is broadly similar to tall-profile patterns such as the Zünder 92, C/96, or certain EKZ variants used on Green Cross or Blue Cross gas shells. While the profile and dimensions suggest a German origin, some Austro-Hungarian and French long-nose fuzes are visually similar, so attribution is cautious.
*Condition* Relic condition with surface corrosion and pitting over all surfaces. Steel striker rusted in place. No visible markings. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
