*WW1 Bohling & Eschrich (B&E) German Hebel Model 1894 Flare/Signal Gun. Deactivated*
Serial number 11228 B&E marked on the frame and 11228 underneath the open breach. The eagle and crowned letters B,S and U are all proof marks. 4 inside a circle is Kaliber 4 or 26.5mm. The crowns over script A are inspection marks.
Hebel Leuchtpistole Model 1894 was a single shot, break open, exposed hammer pistol. Made between 1894 - 1918. The term Hebel (German > "lever") referred to the pistol's lever-action. The lever in front of the trigger guard was flipped up and forward to open the breech. It is made from steel and has wooden grips on the pistol grip. The metal has a blued finish. It was a flare gun used in both World Wars by Germany when signaling to German soldier to go "over the top" when leaving their trenches to engage Allied forces. Measures 14.25" total length, the barrel measures 6.5"."

Still remarkably good original condition given its likely age. Some rusting. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Deactivation certificate included. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
