*WW1, 1913 Pattern, Bayonet, by Remington (US Made) and Scabbard*
The British Pattern 1913 MK1 bayonet for the Pattern 1914 rifle was officially introduced into British service on the 21st June 1916 and was made under contract in the USA by Remington and Winchester. By the end of WW1, Remington had produced 1,243,000 of the 1913 Bayonets.
Straight single-fullered knife blade, steel hilt with muzzle ring, wood slab grips with characteristic pair of cut grooves on each slab, secured by two screws. Steel beaked pommel with locking button
Black leather scabbard with steel locket & teardrop frog stud and steel chape piece.

*Condition*
The blade is in good condition with some nicks to its edge and there is some tarnishing and rusting and the marks cannot be seen. The wood grip has a chip across the cut grooves and a few other small dings, dents and chips. The crossguard, tang and pommel retain are showing signs of rusting. The press stud does not work. The blade fits snugly in the scabbard. The scabbard shows some signs of wear and tear commensurate with its age. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
