~ William L. Wyllie Signed Etching of Destroyers at Sea ~
A lovely quality signed etching by the noted maritime artist William Lionel Wyllie (1851–1931).
The etching shows several First World War era Royal Navy Destroyers at sea with smoke billowing from their engines.
The piece is signed in pencil by the artist to the bottom left hand corner just below the image.
The piece has been mounted and is presented in a glazed frame.

The etching measures 30cm (11 ¾ inches) by 17cm (6 ¾ inches).
The frame measures 53.5cm (21 inches) by 45cm (17 ¾ inches).
It weighs just under 2Kg.
~ Condition ~
The piece is in a great condition with no damage.
The mount and frame are in sound condition, with just a few chips to the finish of the frame.

William Lionel Wyllie (5 July 1851 – 6 April 1931) was a prolific English painter of maritime themes. He has been described as ‘The most distinguished marine artist of his day’.
His work is in the Tate, the Royal Academy, the Imperial War Museum, the National Maritime Museum and many other institutions around the world.
