*US, Late 20th Century, Replica Winchester Lever-Action Rifle*

A full-size replica Winchester-type lever-action rifle, closely modelled on the classic late-19th-century American repeating rifles associated with the Winchester Model 1866 / 1873 family. This example is full length and well-proportioned, featuring a steel-finished receiver, octagonal-profile barrel, tubular magazine, and a smooth hardwood stock and fore-end.

The rifle is fitted with a working lever mechanism, cocking hammer, and trigger, allowing full cycling of the action for display and handling purposes. The receiver is plain, with no manufacturer’s markings or serial numbers visible, consistent with later decorative or replica production rather than a historic firearm.

A decorative longhorn steer’s head plaque is inset into the right side of the butt stock, reinforcing the Western-themed presentation.

Approx. Measurements – Overall length: 97 cm. Barrel length: 49.3 cm.

Historical Note:
Winchester lever-action rifles became iconic during the latter half of the 19th century, particularly in the American West, where they were valued for their rapid rate of fire, reliability, and distinctive handling. Original Winchester rifles played a significant role in frontier expansion, ranching, law enforcement, and popular culture.

Replica examples such as this were produced during the late 20th century for decorative use, re-enactment, film and theatre props, or private display. Their purpose is purely representational, offering the look and handling characteristics of the originals without historic or functional capability.

*Condition*
Overall very good display condition. This is a replica. The metal components show a uniform aged finish with scattered surface wear, light abrasions, and handling marks throughout. The wooden stock and fore-end display minor knocks, scratches, and finish wear consistent with use as a display or handling piece. The longhorn plaque is secure and intact. The action cycles smoothly, and the hammer and trigger operate correctly. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
