The pair depicts a Royal Navy officer and midshipman in silhouette, hand painted with body colour. They are mounted on maroon card with a teal oval card surround. Both are presented in a gilt gesso glazed frame. They most likely date to the mid-20th century.

Both silhouettes are in good tidy condition, the frames have some loss.

Each frame is 30 cm (12 inches) wide and 37 cm (14.5 inches) tall.

Each portrait is 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) wide and 17 cm (6.75 inches) tall.
