The chains are very decorative with three different types of link, a T-bar to the centre and a clasp at each end.

The chain is marked ‘SS’ for sterling silver to both claps and T-bar.

The vesta case has engraved curlicue style design both front and back, and is monogrammed ‘CLM’.

The vesta case is hallmarked for sterling silver, 1902, Birmingham, ‘SML’.

The chains have a total length of 37cm (14 ½ inches).

The vesta case measures 4cm x 3.5cm.

Both pieces have a total weight of 41g.
