The armband is marked “SS Hilfspolizei”.

This is one of the types of armbands that were worn by non-military and non-German volunteers working for and under the jurisdiction of the German Armed Forces.

Reverse of armband has a machine stitched vertical seam, extremely fine.

The Hilfspolizei was established by Hermann Goring on 22 February 1933 to assist regular police in Nazi Germany. It is estimated that the auxiliary units had 25,000 SA and 15,000 SS members.

~ Condition ~

The arm band has developed over time yellowing but the item is in good order.

There is some amount of stains on the armband but the item has aged well.
