The handles have been decorated with a shell towards the top, which appears on all four sides of the handle. The shells are each decorated with a swirl pattern surrounding it.
The piece is hallmarked for Birmingham 1909, with the makers mark "G&C L", for G&C ltd.
The 'blades' are of sprung steel.

The stretchers have a length of 8 inches (20.5cm ). It has a width of 2 inches (5cm) and weigh 87.3g.
~ Condition ~
The stretchers are in decent condition with a strong spring. There are some dents over the handles, most noticeable on one of the shells.
