~ Scottish Lanarkshire Royal Artillery Volunteers Sword 1827 Pattern Light Cavalry Sabre, Leather Frog, Leather Field Scabbard and Belt ~

The sword is a finely and well balanced piece with a sweetly etched blade. It bears the makers mark of “W.W. WITHLY FRANCES ST WOOLWICH” and the Royal Artillery Volunteers mark with a proof star on the ricasso.

It comes with it’s brown leather frog, field scabbard and original belt.

~ Condition ~

The blade is in very good condition with clear etchings. There is some minor age-related pitting and ware, especially on the chromed guard.

The leatherwork is excellent.

~ Dimensions ~

The sabre is 103 cm (40 1/2 inches) long with a 84 cm (33 inch) blade.
