The AKM is the most common development of the AK47 assault rifle, adopted for service by the Soviet armed forces in 1959. Unlike the AK47, the AKM featured a stamped, rather than cast, body. To increase the manufacturability of AKMs, some simplicity changes were made to the internal components. Copies or variants of the AKM were manufactured in a several Warsaw Pact countries. This particular example was produced in Romania.
It has the correct Romanian fire selector settings: S – Sigur (Safety), FA – Foc Automat (automatic fire), FF – Foc cu Foc (semi-automatic fire). Early PM md. 63s had a simple muzzle nut like the original AK-47, but later models, like this one, feature the slanted muzzle brake.

This deactivated AKM is in good condition with moving selector and removable magazine. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
