Pre-1804 British Royal Navy Cutlass "double disk" or figure-8 cutlass with round sheet metal grip and curved blade, a pattern less commonly found in the mid to late 18th century (1750-1796). Both used by British and American sailors in the latter part of the 18th Century. This cutlass comes with its original scabbard.

*Condition*

Overall the cutlass is in good condition.  The hand guard/grip feels very strong and sturdy. The blade still retains its shape but there is historical pitting throughout. There is some cracking on the leather on the scabbard.
