~ Pair Of African Paddles, Circa 1900 ~
The elongated blade of these tropical hardwood paddles is tear shaped. It has beautifully carved incised designs with cylindrical handle which lead into a sharpened blade like tip, jagged saw like patterns carved into the wood of slightly different patterns. The paddles have a fine dark patina finish.
~ Dimensions ~
The paddles both have a length of 60 inches (152.4 cm) and a total width of 5.5 inches (14 cm). The set weighs 1.6 kg.
~ Condition ~
One paddle blade has 3 chips (one quite long) to the edge.
