An original WWII RAF Escape Axe. These were designed to be used by crew members to free themselves from crashed aircraft or to be used as a general survival tool. The handle is insulated with thick rubber and so it could be used to cut through electrical wires.

*Condition*

As you would expect from a design that was meant to survive plane crashes, the Escape Axe is still very solid. There is some pitting on the blade and a crack in the rubber at the top of the handle. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
