This is a field grey painted German M38 Paratrooper’s helmet from WW2. It features field-applied cammo wire across the dome and its original straps and liner. The vented bolts in the helmet suggest that this would have been from an earlier period in WW2 as later, the manufacturers switched to unvented bolts. There is no visible decal on either side.
A couple of collectors pointed out to us that the liner may be of a later period.
*Condition*
This helmet is in good condition for its age and use. Some of the paint has worn away and there is pitting in these areas. The helmet has a hole in the front which we believe to be a post-war embellishment. The liner and straps are in great, strong condition. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
