This is an original Mk2 British Expeditionary Force (BEF) Helmet. As worn by the 56th Infantry division. The BEF were the home-based British army forces that went to northern France at the start of World War II in order to support the left wing of the French army. The hand painted sign on the side of the helmet depicts that of ‘Dick Whittington’s cat’, the emblem of the 56th Infantry Division.
*Condition*
This helmet is in good condition for its age and usage. One side of the helmet is heavily pitted but the dome has no dents or scratches. The original liner is strong and undamaged. Please see pictures for more detail.
