This bayonet model was designed for use with the Gewehr 98infantry rifle which was the standard service rifle for Germany during World War 1. This particular example has a manufacturer’s mark with “g” encircled and “SM” on the ricasso. On the reverse, is the imperial German Crown.

~Condition~

This bayonet is in great condition for its age and use. The blade has a great finish with some light areas of pitting. The pommel has been repainted and the button does not depress. The grips remain strong and undamaged. Please see pictures for more detail.
