Original WW1 FE2D Propeller Blade Lt Sydney Alder

This is an original propeller from a World War 1 FE2D plane. It features a silver mount that reads “Lt Sydney Alder, R.F.C., 1916-1918”. Around the base the following is inscribed: “IPC 1958 DG T 28020 250 hp Rolls Royce FE 2d”. 2^nd Lieutenant Sydney Alder served with the Sherwood Foresters in WW1, followed by the RFC, which later became the RAF. During his time with the RFC, he was shot down by enemy fire, falling 3 miles, and managing to correct his FE2D just before hitting the ground, only sustaining an injury to his ankle. This propeller blade is an excellent piece of history.

*Condition*

The propeller is in great condition for its age. There are various knocks and marks across the blade but no significant damage. The tip has some minor damage but remains strong and whole. Please se pictures for more detail.
