Original British 1853 Pattern Tower Enfield Musket

19th Century Victorian English Musket Rifle

Out of stock

~ Original British 1853 Pattern Tower Enfield Musket ~

This is an English Tower Enfield percussion Musket dated 1862. This type of rifle was famous for being used in wars such as the Crimean War and the American Civil War. The stock bears the “Birmingham Small Arms Trade” (BSA) stamp. There seems to be a name inscribed under the stock but it is not clear enough to read. It features a steel barrel with foresight, sliding flip rear sight by Philip Webley & Sons, 3 Steel bands, steel ramrod and tower proof and inspection marks. The lock has the engraved Crown and “Tower 1862”. It is also comprised of a mahogany stock with brass fore-end cap, trigger guard and butt cap. The two-stage lock mechanism is in working order.

*Condition*

There are a few knocks and marks to the barrel but overall, this musket is in excellent condition and you will struggle to find a better example. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
