This is a Victorian Lee-Metford mark 2 bayonet, made in 1901 by Enfield Royal Arms Factory. The blade comes with original scabbard and frog. This bayonet features the star stamp on its pommel which indicates that it was sold out of service. This item looks great and the button works as it should.

Lee-Metford rifles were the replacement in the British army for the Martini-Henry rifle. They were notably used during the Boer war and (in limited numbers) World War 1.

*Condition*

This bayonet is in great condition for a 120 year old item. The blade is very clear with some minor pitting. The handle is partly worn with more pitting on the metal parts and some minor damage to the wooden grip. Frog and scabbard are in great, working condition. Please see pictures for more detail.
