*Mid Eastern Jambiya with Scabbard & Saddle Mount with Silver & Brass Fittings*
The Mid Eastern Jambiya, also known as the Arabian Jambiya, is a traditional dagger commonly found in the Middle East, particularly in countries like Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and other parts of the Arabian Peninsula. It holds significant cultural and historical importance in the region and is often considered a symbol of masculinity, prestige, and social status.
It features a 15inch (38.1cm) single-edged curved blade, with somewhat faded decorative markings. The overall length is 50.4cm. The hilt of the dagger is made of wood and embellished with intricate silver and brass metalwork. It comes with a leather embellished belt (93cm long) studded with silver balls and dyed red. The leather sheath is also very ornate with brass and silver embossed in intricate designs.
*Condition*
This is a very attractive dagger which is in good condition with some signs of wear and tear. The blades decorative markings are a somewhat faded and the tip of the blade is slightly chipped. There are some pitting marks on the end of the blade. The sheath fits snugly and easily. The leather on the scabbard shows some signs of wear and tear.
